Job Summary

The Operations Analyst will be part of a highly collaborative team that manages overall life cycle of all items to ensure accurate and timely resolution of all Operational / System related issues and Operational Project requests for Delaware Life's Annuity and Life Insurance business administered by a third-party vendor.

The Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the Life and Annuity business for Delaware Life, which includes various Operational areas. The Operations Analyst proactively communicates and collaborates with business units across the organization to support operational priorities and deliver on efficiency initiatives (Issues and Project Requests). This includes a broad scope of responsibilities working with both our Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and Internal Operational teams.

This individual will also work closely with both internal and external partners to help track and ensure timely resolution to all production related issues and Change Requests (enhancements, projects, etc.). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working collaboratively on complex issues and has an inquisitive nature.

Main Accountabilities

  • Conduct research and analysis to fully understand the issue/project request
  • Work closely with internal business partners to review business requirements and ensure there is consensus on the solution approach. This will involve working with multiple internal departments, including but not limited to Operations, Actuary, IT, Legal, Compliance
  • Review, analyze and summarize data to help identify and communicate scope and root cause
  • Manage any contract clean up associated with the issue
  • Drafts all communications related to Issues and Projects (Customer Letters, Internal FAQs)
  • Provide support to our internal business partners as needed to ensure efficient resolution to issues, blockers, etc. that could impede progress
  • Identify and escalate items at risk of not meeting deadlines, project overbudget, regulatory implications
  • Identify trends and collaborate with our internal business partners & vendor to implement process improvements as needed
  • Track vendor progress on individually assigned tickets and escalate to internal management to when target dates are at risk.
  • Partner with business areas to update Guidelines and ensure timely updates are made to all internal and external tracking systems (Jira, Sharepoint, etc.)

Qualifications & Knowledge Skills
  • 5+ years' experience internal Operations experience
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Annuity products and vendor systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of Annuity Operations a plus
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • SharePoint experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ownership, and accountability
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
  • Ability to multitask and execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to competing/changing priorities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $55,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $85,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
