This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Fuel Rod Design Engineer in Lynchburg, VA or Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Materials and Thermal Mechanics Business Line in the Fuel Business Unit which is responsible for a broad range of activities including fuel rod and control component design, materials development, manufacturing support, and fuel performance code development. The engineering activities are coordinated with other Framatome fuel engineering departments both locally and worldwide. Your work will include:

• Perform thermal and mechanical analyses to support the safe irradiation of existing and advanced fuel designs. These analyses involve the use of engineering computer codes and employ both empirical and first principal methods.
• Maintain existing fuel rod analysis codes and develop automation software to streamline the analyses.
• Participate in and support interfaces with customer and regulatory authorities to obtain regulatory approval of the Framatome reactor core design, codes, and methods.
• Prepare and review design specifications, calculation files, test requirements and associated reports.

Framatome's Richland, WA facility is a licensed nuclear fuel manufacturing site and complies with US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and US Department of Energy (DOE) regulations. This position is safety-sensitive and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening is required.

Richland is located in the Columbia River basin in southeastern Washington a few hours east of Seattle. Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $70,000 - $91,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
