Melt Shop Lead (All Areas)

Basic Job Functions:

The Melting/Casting Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Leading unprecedented excellence in safety.
• Onboarding, training, and continued growth and development of team and self.
• Educating, motivating, and empowering a strong Nucor culture made up of team oriented, positive attitudes, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Taking care of our teammates, customers, and partners by continually improving quality, costs, productivity, and profitability.
• Developing strong relationships with focus on servant leadership and gratitude
• Set goals and expectations for the melting, refining, and casting operation that align with our department and division strategy to produce results and ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensuring the necessary support and tools are available to help the team.

Lead positions are available in EAF, LMF/VTD, Caster, and Refractory. Successful candidates will be placed based on needs and experience.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years previous experience in Melt Shop leadership or 3 years combined previous experience in technical and operations roles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Operation of Melt Shop equipment
• Proven record of continual growth and development with desire for increased responsibility
• Start-up experience
