Description

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for maintaining patient files, responds to requests for medical records and performs clerical activities in support of the medical records department.

How you will make an impact:

  • Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Protect the security and integrity of medical records to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in compliance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintains patient files and retrieves files for scheduled appointments; Responds to requests for medical records; processes letters and report. .
  • Ensure all needed DOS are included
  • Combine charts as needed
  • If any DOS are missing continue to process but notify manager of issue
  • Make sure all pages are for same member
  • Ensure Name and Date of Birth match the Utility
  • Once processed update status in utility as being "received"
  • If chart falls into more than one project, then mark as received under all
  • Create Provider folder using assigned naming convention
  • Upload Provider folder to pending quality once a folder is completed. If folder contains more than 20 charts, then send through 20 charts at a time so quality team does not get backlogged
  • Transfer medical charts between secured shared drives daily
  • Check/respond to company email hourly
  • May be required on occasion to pick up mail at PulsePoint (Corporate office)
  • Attend virtual meetings when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Must be able to manage time and workload efficiently and accurately as assigned by department manager Process charts as assigned by Team Leader / Department Manager
