The office of EDR Internal Awards has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Manager, Programs. Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the internal award processes at the MSOM: Drafting RFA's, provide guidance to investigators, helping to find reviewers (and working with faculty leads to find them), harmonizing reviews, facilitate the meetings with review committees and programmatic leadership, drafting NOA's, follow up for short and long term reporting requirements and manage internal awards database. Manage accounting and financial matters relating to internal awards including but not limited to account creation, financial journals, financial/accounting management of internal awards accounts, financial reporting and management of internal awards to ensure budget adherence. Responsible for organizing and handling information sessions with prospective applicants, administer and oversee online application and review portal for internal awards. Oversee the process to ensure that relevant data (including ROI) is collected. Create and maintain relationships with departmental staff, central staff and faculty. Work on research-related issues that cross organizational boundaries with regards to internal awards. Maintain current knowledge of regulations, policies and guidelines for EDR internal awards; as well as provide training internal award topics. Contribute information and ideas related to internal award processes and procedures to continually improve efficiency. Assist in the development of division/department/school-wide strategy and operational initiatives. Work collaboratively with other MSOM organizations to harmonize internal award processes. Facilitate the implementation of internal award solutions within the MSOM - define issues, write procedures, provide training, if appropriate, and draft guidelines.

The Manager, Programs oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the assigned University programs in accordance with the institution's academic and strategic missions. The incumbent operates with the goal of delivering high quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Manager, Programs provides guidance and mentorship to program staff to encourage talent development. Plans, implements, evaluates, and monitors organization-wide development programs. Implements project plans related to the delivery of new and on-going professional development programs. Works with internal stakeholders so that the program runs efficient and effectively. Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of assigned programs. Ensures that operations are managed within authorized budgets. Collects, manages, and reports program data. Develops and cultivates relationships and partnerships with various external entities and organizations to further department functions. Recruits, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines department staff to ensure optimum performance. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
