Manager, Field Services - Blades

Position Overview

As the Manager, Field Services - Blades, you will provide day to day management of Field Service personnel. You will work to oversee all aspects of Invenergy's Field Service Blade team, including managing Field Services Blade Technicians. This Manager will assist with a wide range of activities all directed toward the same goal: Safely and efficiently executing on field service scopes of work. Responsibilities include working closely with Asset management, Engineering, and Site/Regional level management to ensure the Field Service Blade team is executing work at their highest level. Invenergy wants a team player willing to use their analytical, conceptual, and creative thinking skills to help with department growth and organization as well as look for ways to improve the group's efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture within Invenergy's Field Service Blade team.
• Schedule and oversee Field Service personnel responsible for wind turbine blade repair and general site support.
• Effectively work with onsite Operations and Maintenance Managers, Regional Directors, Asset Management, and Engineering to communicate current and future scopes of work.
• Clearly communicate site safety, productivity, schedules, budgets, and work scope issues.
• Represent Invenergy to internal and external stakeholders while providing a high level of professionalism.
• Identify inconsistencies across executed work and adjust the team's work behaviors to continuously improve their performance.
• Manage recurring reporting processes and identify actionable items.
• Work alongside the rest of Field Service Management in the development and implementation of operational best practices
• Act as a liaison between Asset Management, Site Management, and our technicians

Required Skills

• A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience
• Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel and to work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage projects and technicians.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, primarily Excel
• Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills.
• Position will require travel 50% of the time with most of it being during the blade repair season (April - October)
• Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changes on short notice.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance and work at heights greater than 100 meters (300 feet).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks.
• Rope access (SPRAT or IRATA) certification or wiliness to obtain.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Knowledge or experience related to wind energy.
• Experience in a manufacturing or skilled trade environment.
• Experience in blade repair operations or composite repair.
• Suspended platform setup and use.
