Job Title: -- Manager - Environmental, Social, and Governance

Job Summary: -- EMCOR Group, Inc., a leading provider of electrical and mechanical construction and facilities services has adopted governance policies and undertaken specific initiatives that reflect our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The Manager - Environmental, Social, and Governance will share responsibility for managing the company's ESG initiatives, including reporting and disclosure under applicable frameworks such as the TCFD, the GhG Protocol, the SASB, CDP, etc. Primary responsibilities will include managing and overseeing the company's Scope 1, 2, and 3 Greenhouse Gas inventory, tracking progress on ESG initiatives, including publicly stated greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets or internal decarbonization strategies, and assisting with the preparation of the annual sustainability report. In addition, this position will be responsible for submitting information to ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, and EcoVadis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

  • Active participation in tracking the company's greenhouse gas inventory, including periodically reviewing data submitted by each of our 90 operating subsidiaries for completeness and accuracy, and establishing internal control procedures relevant to the accurate reporting of scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
  • Act as liaison between the corporate office, operating subsidiaries, and national purchasing group to obtain data needed on an ad hoc basis
  • Participate in the continued design, implementation, and administration of the company's sustainability information system(s)
  • Conduct robust analysis and assist in the development of innovative solutions for a range of climate challenges
  • Design sustainability training in order to promote sustainability practices and initiatives throughout the organization
  • Work closely with external consultants/advisors on numerous sustainability initiatives
  • Assist with the preparation of annual ESG/sustainability reports and other external reports established in frameworks and initiatives adopted by the company
  • Work closely with EMCOR's accounting and financial reporting team to ensure compliance with proposed SEC climate change disclosures
  • Participate in audit processes related to ESG information, including but not limited to assurance over greenhouse gas emissions, as may be required
  • Experience working with platforms such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, and EcoVadis.
Qualifications: --
  • B.S./B.A. required, degree in accounting, finance, sustainability, engineering, or environmental science preferred
  • CPA preferred/ desired
  • Familiarity with disclosure requirements of TCFD and GhG Protocol, as well as calculation methodology for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and experience with platforms such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, and EcoVadis.
  • Basic understanding of internal controls preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in climate or sustainability fields
  • Strong analytical skills, including use of Microsoft Excel, and attention to detail
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
