What you need to know about the role
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, highly productive Software Engineer for Android mobile engineering team to develop and execute automated tests for various frontend and backend components within the Venmo platforms.

We want to meet you if you enjoy providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems. This role requires a strong background in software development, QA methodologies, and automation tools.

Your day-to-day :

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases for mobile, web and backend systems.
  • Work closely with development and QE teams to identify test requirements and strategies, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Lead the integration of automated tests with CI/CD pipelines, enhancing and maintaining our automation infrastructure.
  • Analyze test results, identify and report bugs, and collaborate with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Mentor junior SDET and QE team members, sharing knowledge to improve team skills and efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies, introducing testing process improvements.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining technical documentation related to automated test systems and processes.

What you need to bring:
  • 5+ years of Android development experience, mobile technologies, and testing experience.
  • 8+ years of development or testing experience.
  • Hands on Java/Kotlin programming experience.
  • Hands-on Android Studio IDE experience.
  • Basic Android testing frameworks experience.
  • Hands-on scripting experience, such as Python, Shell, and NodeJs.
  • Android framework experience with Espresso Test, Appium, Cucumber, UI Automator, and Scripting desire.
  • Ability to develop Android test framework from scratch with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment and build tools.
  • Strong knowledge of QA concepts and deep experience in test design, debugging, and execution
