As part of Humana's enterprise-wide technology transformation, we are transitioning to a cloud-based ecosystem to help us accelerate our speed to value and deliver on our promise of human care by allowing us to adapt more quickly to the evolving needs of our customers of Healthcare Services organization comprising multiple segments.

Looking for a Lead Solutions Architect who is expert in cloud technologies to join forces to help us transform and modernize the HCS assets with cloud and platform centric solutions. This role requires a heavy collaboration with several application teams on the asset prioritization, cloud foundation capabilities and several other cloud teams in Humana to help deliver on the promise of transformation.

This key role requires active partnership with several HCS IT, Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Modernization teams to help establish the application roadmaps for cloud modernization to meet with the futuristic demands of the HCS organization. The candidate must have hands-on cloud knowledge to help provide guidance to the teams and also align on the patterns, practices , standards and play/run books published by cloud central teams. The candidate needs to be able to switch gears between hands-on & hands-off approach as needed without getting lost into the details to help drive the transformation.

Candidate is expected to exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

The Lead Solutions Architect translates business needs into cloud technology driven technical solutions. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with multiple IT and transformation technical teams to help establish segment wide application level could transformation roadmaps for HCS vertical
  • Partner with several key stakeholders across the organizations to help inform the roadmap decisions and implications associated with the cloud program
  • Actively collaborates, guides and influences the key decisions involving the modernization with impacts mitigated on the current state operations
  • Engages with Applications Architects and provides active guidance on the patterns, standards, practices and reference architecture models to help deliver on the cloud transformation commitments by the respective HCS IT teams
  • Lead technical discussions with business partners through ideation phase of initiatives that help formulate the project scope. This will require the ability to communicate complex problems in layman's terms. Develop presentations and reports to support the case.
  • Responsible for identification of existing business risks related to the implementation of the proposed technical solution.
  • Drive the architecture and technology solutions with Cloud and Digital first approach
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 10 years of progressive information technology experience directly related to architecture/engineering, information security, or other specialized technology field
  • Mandatory experience - Azure or GCP or AWS cloud technologies, Cloud agnostic solutions, Containers(preferably K8s) , Healthcare knowledge
  • Demonstratepeople and process skills to work directly with senior leadership and Engineering teams across areas. Ability to communicate effectively to various key stakeholders and the associated teams with wide variance on business and technology expertise.
  • Cloud, platform centric thinking and expertise is expected for the role due to the nature and complexity of the existing in-house implementations
  • Experience having a balanced mix of technical and business skills, work with Technology partners and Enterprise modernization teams for strategic direction. The main focus is on the technical decisions being made regarding the solution and how they impact the business outcomes.
  • Candidate must have solution architecture and cloud architecture skills with ability to work with multiple key stakeholders with some level of uncertainty which is part and parcel of now a days business world
  • Candidate must be willing to switch the gears as needed to swing between different areas of HCS based on the designated assignments and exigencies of duty.

  • Master's Degree
