Join Walmart, a Fortune 1 company with significant pharmacy and OTC medication sales as the Lead Counsel FDA Regulatory / Pharmacy and OTC. This role will report to our Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel of Health & Wellness / Regulatory Legal. In this Lead Counsel role, you will provide legal advice, guidance, and support to various stakeholders on FDA regulations related to all aspects pharmacy, clinical trials, and OTC medication. You will also support business strategies and innovations related to medication, testing (OTC and point of care), private label products, medical devices, and clinical trials.

In addition, the Lead Counsel of FDA Regulations for Pharmacy & OTC will support other legal teams and businesses on interesting and innovative customer facing solutions like Walmart Pickup and Delivery. The Lead Counsel will also work in collaboration with other government agency response teams to represent Walmart in applicable regulatory matters at the federal and state level, work with outside counsel on complex matters and interact with relevant government agencies and regulatory bodies.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Tracking, monitoring, and advising the business and the global governance teams on federal and state supplements, medical devices, drug and OTC medication related statutory, regulatory, and enforcement developments.
  • Providing legal advice and counsel to the company to enhance and maintain initiatives on a range of supplements, medical devices, drug and OTC medication related legal, business, and compliance matters.

  • Providing legal guidance for supplements, medical devices, drug and OTC medication audit programs.
  • Reviewing and advising on agreements with various parties to ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and corporate requirements.
  • Developing best practices and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Finding solutions to support Walmart's strategic initiatives related to supplements, medical devices, drugs and OTC medications, ensuring that we deliver to our customers safe and affordable options, including the method of delivery.
  • Successfully collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

You'll sweep us off our feet if you have...
  • 7+ years experience at the FDA or in private practice at a reputable firm advising clients on U. S. Food and Drug Administration regulatory compliance and enforcement matters as well as Good Manufacturing Processes.
  • Ability to evaluate scientific and safety data and information to support ingredient safety assessments and claims substantiation.
  • Familiarity with domestic programs and regulations applicable to Walmart's activities, including, but not limited to, corporate compliance programs, and/or experience with U. S. federal and corresponding state regulatory regimes in drugs/OTC.
