JOB SUMMARY

The Global Technology Organization's Cloud Business Office (CBO) is essential for ensuring we are effectively setting cloud enterprise standards for LexisNexis Legal and Professional with an optimized operational model. The CBO Cloud Governance Lead position is responsible for developing and driving the strategy, governance, and compliance of cloud services across multiple cloud providers. The CBO will need the Cloud Governance Lead to be a proven leader in cloud technologies, with the ability to stay on top of industry best practices and work collaboratively with other technical resources and vendors across our enterprise cloud environments to meet organizational financial, security, and operational goals.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in a technical, IT related position
  • At least one expert-level certification in a cloud platform technology (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • 4 years' experience architecting and building cloud infrastructure solutions in Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Minimum of 4 years of deploying and supporting cloud services in a large-scale environment.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and overseeing cloud costs for scalable, customer-facing applications
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience in software engineering or platform engineering
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure components and applications
  • Experience with Vendor Management


DESIRED SKILLS
  • Cloud Solution Architect
  • 2+ years of experience with Cybersecurity and/or Cloud Financial processes
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts relating to technology capitalization and operating expense
  • Experience with process engineering including re-engineering activities for existing processes
  • Technical capability to identify opportunities for automation of cloud governance services then document, design and implement to accomplish this automation


TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Knowledge of predicting AWS costs based on usage patterns
  • Experience with large scale enterprise systems
  • Proficient in AWS/Azure security architecture best practices
  • Knowledge of IAM restrictive policies in shared accounts preferred
  • Stays in touch with latest trends and can clearly communicate value add benefits of changes
  • Experience using cost tooling (like Cloud Health) to analyse and categorize spend across a large organization
  • Maintain and forecast Cloud OPEX spend (demand and capacity planning)
  • Experience in cost reduction/management/optimization strategies (i.e. RIs, Savings Plans, etc…)
  • Develop/maintain capacity tools/models where applicable
  • Ability to automate tooling in a programming language
  • Experience with containerization technologies (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, etc…)
  • Experience with serverless technologies (i.e. Lambda, Functions, etc…)
  • Use of orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation
  • Experience migrating application from on-premises to public cloud.
  • Experience with Log Management tools (i.e. Elastic Stack, Splunk, or Graylog)
  • Defines and document public cloud adoption best practices and strategies
  • Manages relationships with application & infrastructure teams and prioritizes multiple projects as they go from design into production
  • Maintains deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends in cloud and related technologies
  • Build trusting and collaborative relationships with other technology teams to identify dependencies and needs (dev teams, dev/ops, cloud engineering, operations, infosec, architects, account owners/admins, and finance)
  • Works closely with Cloud providers Research and evaluate emerging cloud technologies and proactively recommend areas where they can bring business value.
  • Works with engineering teams and the business to establish operational efficiencies, policies, and governance
  • All other duties as assigned.
