Job Summary

Alliant Energy is looking for people to join our Semi-Skilled Laborer workforce in Monroe, WI.

This program takes individuals with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn and teaches them the skills needed to transition into an Alliant Energy apprenticeship position.

As a semi-skilled laborer you will have an opportunity to perform miscellaneous semi-skilled, physical work required in any activity of the Company.

What you will do

• Performs miscellaneous semi-skilled physical work required in any activity of the Company.
• Examples: Maintaining buildings and equipment; doing minor construction and incidental carpentry; mixing and placing concrete; painting; driving truck; maintaining, repairing, and overhauling various machines and accessories; helping incidentally in the storeroom; assisting in pipe work; operating pneumatic drill or hammer; building or repairing substation fences; or any other comparable physical labor requiring a similar degree of practical ability.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related or incidental to this position.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

Required Experience

• Previous work or internship experience or technical school experience.

Other Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Ability to read and write
• Ability to understand and follow instructions and to perform semi-skilled work
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group.
