Eurofins Central Analytical Laboratory offers analytical support and food safety consulting to a wide range of local, regional and international clients. ECAL's services include chemical analysis, inspection and sampling of food and commodities such as grain and grain by-products, food safety consulting and environmental testing.

ECAL's analytical methods and personnel are certified, approved, or accredited by recognized organizations such as A2LA, AOCS, FOSFA, GAFTA. Additionally, ECAL has been certified by the Japanese Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Eurofins Central Analytical Laboratory is searching for a Laboratory Analyst in New Orleans, LA.

Laboratory Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Perform production testing of samples, processing analytical data and reporting of results, within the required testing time.

• Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting of assigned instruments. Must fully understand instrumentation operating principles.

• Implement analytical methods as written in standard operating procedures as well as assist with validation of new methodologies.

• Work with department manager and analysts to suggest improvements for existing analytical methods.

• Monitor ongoing performance of analytical methods with control charts.

• Assist with identification and implementation of analytical method improvements.

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Practical experience with GC-MS/MS, GC-FID, LC-FLD, LC-MS/MS. Experience in food testing and wet chemistry a plus.

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)

• 3-5 years of experience as an analyst

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of New Orleans, Louisiana are encouraged to apply.
