IT Security Analyst

What We're Looking For:
Barge has an immediate opening for an IT Security Analyst. This person will be responsible for participating in the daily operational duties for supporting and securing an enterprise environment.

This person will be a hands-on subject matter expert helping to identify, alert, triage, troubleshoot, report, and mitigate security related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, monitor, and modify firewall policy rules.
  • Alert triaging and data collection for information security investigations
  • Present clear, organized, and concise information (written and verbal) to all audiences to enable effective business decisions.
  • Review assessments and provide reports to alter or improve the current information security posture.
  • Ability to contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic planning in support of the overall information security plan.
  • Use modern monitoring toolsets to analyze, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance and information security procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze information security issues to determine root cause; develop and implement timely solutions.
  • Ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
  • Ability to identify key point indicators suitable for management reporting.
  • Ability to evaluate innovative information security technologies for business environments to improve security posture.
  • Knowledge of IT security framework; NIST, CIS


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or 3 years of related field or equivalent experience with relevant cybersecurity related certifications.
  • Wide understanding of security technologies and their role within an enterprise environment, such as but not limited to: firewalls, decoy accounts, honeypots, phishing, security awareness training, incident management, sheep-dip, threat detection, threat hunting, threat analytics, vulnerability scanning.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and wireshark.
  • Experience with security information and event management systems.
  • Understanding of multifactor authentication.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft endpoint operating systems and security stack: firewall configuration utilizing Defender; patch management; next-gen anti-virus/malware and advanced threat protection applications; Bitlocker management, security event logging and analytics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange: message tracing, policy rules, spam detection, SPF, DMARC, DKIM, quarantine.
  • Exposure to compliance methodologies such as but not limited to: data classification, data loss prevention, intrusion detection/prevention, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and eDiscovery.
