Job Title: IT Infrastructure Network Engineer (Open to Location)

The Network Engineer role is a key addition to the existing Infrastructure Engineering team. The ideal candidate will execute and support the current and future network environment including Routing and Switching, Network Security, Wide-Area-Networking, WIFI, and Remote Access capabilities. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining standards and adhering to defined design principles of Network Engineering. They will participate in technical initiatives for worldwide networking solutions including Public Cloud, SD-WAN, and localized WIFI in supporting the future state of the Slalom Network Infrastructure.

Compensation: The base salary pay range for this position in Seattle is $80,000 to $123,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and location. Please see below for information on Slalom benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and install computer networks including VPNs, firewalls, Load Balancers, routers, switches, APs, and other physical or virtual networking systems
  • Deploy firewalls and network security systems to protect data and communications
  • Manage a variety of cloud platforms in a networking context, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and Snowflake.
  • Monitor network systems to improve network performance for central and distributed environments
  • Troubleshoot, resolve and communicate networking issues to other employees and management
  • Implement networking disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
Who you are:

This position requires the candidate to be team-oriented and familiar with scrum-style, Agile, or DevOps work processes. Candidate should have a strong understanding of the hardware infrastructure, DNS (domain name system), routers, firewalls, and cloud computing applications. An ideal network engineer should possess good analytical, communication, time management, and creative skills.

Qualifications:
  • A potential candidate should have a history of success in the area of Network Engineering
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Certifications in the area of expertise are considered.
  • Experience or familiarity with the following tools or platforms is a plus: Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, AWS, Azure, Jira, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
  • This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.
