Job Description:

* Establishes and maintains appropriate par levels.

* Communicates with Logistics Coordinator and OR Buyer every morning on inventory issues

* Ensures that the Inventory Control associates maintain accurate par levels throughout the OR and Hospital Stores.

* Ensures that non-stock supplies be ordered on a timely manner and are available for use in the OR and Hospital Stores.

* Establishes and maintains the inventory in an organized, efficient, and effective manner.

* Oversees that all supply areas including, scrub sinks and anesthesia work rooms re stocked and ordered appropriately

* Communicates with OR coordinators to maintain accurate preference cards.

* Makes recommendations to the OR Coordinators for changes based upon usage reports, trends, and requests.

* Works closely with the Surgery Department and materials management to ensure that all supplies are available.

* Establishes an effective flow of product from the vendor to the Surgery Department.

* Ensures that unused supplies are removed from the OR suites and returned appropriately.

* Enters bone/tissue into OR log book

* Organizes products for easy counting.

* Verifies counts and enters into computer

* Completes Excel for expired products

* Identifies educational needs of staff when apparent and notifies Director of Surgical Support Services

* Functions as a preceptor for new employees. Services

* Participates in quality assurance programs.

* Demonstrates calmness and courteousness in a stressful environment.

* Exhibits a willingness/responsiveness to supervisory requests. Complies with Departmental and Hospital Wide Policies and Procedures

* Adheres to attendance policy.

* Maintains constant awareness of potential hazards ensuring necessary safety precautions.

* Complies with established standards of practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent is required.

* Warehouse/ Inventory experience preferred.

* Able to operate Power Lift and Electrical Carts

* Ability to use warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, dolly's, lifts, scales, and exchange carts) is necessary.

* Ability to use office equipment (copier, phones) is necessary
