Mobile Communications America, Inc. is hiring a full-time Installer to join our growing service team in the Troy, Michigan location. You will be responsible for the installation of communications equipment (two-way radios, communication systems, laptops, etc.) in customer buildings and vehicles.

What We Look For:
  • At least one (1) year of experience with basic electricity skills as it pertains to understanding AC, DC volts and amperes, vehicle wiring, including negative and positive voltage levels.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills of two-way radio, in-vehicle systems, to isolate the problem for resolution; antenna system, power issues, or the unit itself.
  • Mechanical skills including, but not limited to, the use of basic hand tools, basic mechanical tools, drill motors, etc.
  • Read and interpret detailed specifications and drawings, blueprints, schematics, and method of procedures (MOPs)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks like walking, standing, driving, lifting up to 50lbs, and ascending / descending ladders and stairs with little to no limitation.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a 7-year background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.


Exceptional candidates have:
  • A two-year degree in Electronics, IT, or applicable subject.
  • Experience with test equipment as it pertains to vehicle 2-way radio installations, i.e. volt-ohm meter and RF watt meter.
  • CET certification.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear, utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend / descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
