Do you want to apply your knowledge from your university classes to gain real world application development experience while gaining college credit? The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is currently seeking two interns for an eight-month long Co-Op within our Information Technology department.

Accountabilities:

• Assist with supporting, maintaining and developing systems used at the Bank, which will include application analysis, development testing and assistance to information technology staff.
• Grow your financial systems knowledge through development of the Bank's internally developed and vendor supported systems.

Requirements:

• Sophomore, Junior or Senior working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science; or Graduate Student in Masters of Engineering or Computer Science program.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Detail-oriented.
• Interest in or understanding of financial institutions and financial instruments.
• Java stack development knowledge.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development practices.
• MS SQL Server knowledge, including SQL Server Reporting Services and/or SQL Server Integration Services.

Core bank hours are 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. Candidates with a strong interest in application development and who are able to work full-time hours are preferred, though we can work around individual school schedules, as well. This paid Co-Op position is expected to run eight months, from May to December 2022.
