Human Resources Adjunct

Business Management 155

Salary: $1,496 - $1,604**

Classification: Adjunct Faculty

Reports to: Dean of Business & Technology

Olympic College is recruiting a human resources professional to develop and teach Business Management 155, Human Resources. Fall quarter, the class will be taught in a hybrid delivery with face-to-face classes Tuesday evenings and the remainder of instruction taught online. The successful candidate will provide content expertise for developing and teaching the course.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and teach Business and Management 155, Human Resource
  • Provide quality teaching including preparation and grading
  • Provide supplementary instruction and materials through the Learning Management System, Canvas. A course shell with some materials can be provided, but the instructor will need to know how to edit and manage it.
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the Business and Technology Division staff
  • Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required
  • Punctual communication with students, faculty and staff
  • Develop Lesson Plans
  • Create activities in Line with course outcomes
  • Provide Student Feedback on coursework
  • Respond to student emails and course inquiries.
  • Develop and provide a course syllabus including stated course outcomes, course policies, and grading criteria. Provide a copy to the Division Office.
  • Teach course(s) in accordance with college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and departmental guidelines
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading
  • Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University
  • Experience as a Human Resource Professional at the managerial level
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use instructional technology such as CANVAS
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
  • College level teaching experience
  • Expertise in recruitment, retention, and the HR legal environment
  • Proficiency using Canvas for delivery of course materials and submission of student work
  • Human resources industry certifications such as SHRM
  • Successful Applicants will be able to:

    Terms of Employment

    This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. A collective bargaining agreement exists, and this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments including travel to clinical sites may be a part of the instructional load. Adjunct positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Your salary placement will be dependent on your education (official transcripts must be submitted upon hire) and qualifications.
