TITLE: Head Coach, Women's Cross Country

DIVISION: Student Affairs/Athletics

HIRING SALARY: Contract salary based on education and experience

CONTACT:

MAJOR FUNCTION: Provide vision, leadership and oversight for all aspects of the athletic program.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Also requires three (3) years of coaching experience. College coaching experience and/or a degree in sports management, physical education, health or a related field is preferred. A master's degree in sports management, physical education, health or a related field is also preferred.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: Knowledge and understanding of the standards and requirements of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA). Knowledge of NCAA and NAIA transfer rules. Knowledge of college curriculum and graduation requirements. Knowledge of athletic recruitment, methods and techniques. Excellent and proven leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills. Proficient skills using MS Office Suite and operating a motor vehicle safely. Ability to teach and demonstrate specific Cross Count skills. Ability to maintain an effective athletic program. Ability to motivate a group of individuals and facilitate team-building. Ability to communicate and work with young people, especially young men. Ability to work independently, as a team member and with other TCC coaches and athletic staff. Ability to work effectively with diverse students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Ability to monitor academic, athletic and personal development. Ability to work long hours and weekends. Ability to handle difficult and sensitive issues and resolve problems and conflicts. Ability to handle high levels of stress and anxiety. Ability to represent and promote the College's athletic team at conferences, FCSAA and NJCAA meetings, games, meets, and matches. Ability to represent the division and the College in a positive and professional manner. Ability to travel over night to team competitions. Ability to participate in public relations activities, to include television and radio interviews, and press conferences, as appropriate.
