SUMMARY
Coordinates and follows up on activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Supports the Cargo Supervisor in implementing company programs.
- Works directly with Cargo Agents to execute action plans to operational and organizational objectives.
- Works directly with Cargo Agents to ensure everyone is consistent in practicing safety-conscious behaviors.
- Assigns Cargo Agents with specific cargo build-ups/breakdowns.
- Keeps records of all incoming and outgoing shipments; checking each shipment against shipping invoices, air waybills, booking list or bills of lading.
- Ensures merchandise arrives in good condition and is accompanied by all required paperwork including customs and dangerous goods.
- Ensure entire delivery, not just part of it, arrives intact.
- Ensures all custom’s holds have been removed before delivery and all import service fees have been paid.
- Serves as a back-up to a Cargo Agent crew if team members are absent.
- Works as a member of the Cargo team to move, load, breakdown and build-up freight.
- Assists with new hire training.
- Assigns employee breaks.
- Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Immediate supervision of a unit but acts as an understudy to a higher level position.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED; and over three months up to and including 12 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of Airline software a plus


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Current Forklift Certification

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements
- Strong verbal/written skills, organizational skills, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Aircraft specifications
- Knowledge of Customs/FAA documentation requirements
- Must score at least 90% on the TAS Lead test

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- May occasionally be asked to run local errands.
- Security Clearance, (for airport security purposes) pass a 10-year background screening.
