$500 SIGN-ON BONUS
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Floor Care & Maintenance Technician. This position is part of the Housekeeping & Maintenance Department. To maintain all floors and Residential care complex and performs general outside maintenance duties. Assists with other duties under the direction of management, in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, Birchaven Retirement Village policy, procedure and ethical statement and resident rights.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. This includes cleaning of carpet machines, buffers, and pads.
Duty 2: Follow safety precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies especially the machines.
Duty 3: Keep work areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, and supplies etc. Using the wet floor signs when needed.
Duty 4: Coordinate the floor and carpet cleaning schedules with appropriate departments when performing routine floor care assignments in resident living and recreational areas.
Duty 5: Keep updated records of all floor care work in log book.
Duty 6: Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions are maintained when performing floor care procedures.
Duty 7: Adheres to BVHS's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Duty 8: Conducts routine maintenance in designated areas as it relates to the BVH Mission Statement.
Duty 9: Maintains skill level with appropriate training and uses various methods to ensure continual improvement.
Duty 10: Maintains positive working relationship with designated associates in area of responsibility.
Duty 11: Demonstrates initiative and accepts accountability for work related issues.
Duty 12: Maintains stock par level related to refuse collection area to "speed up" the delivery of customer satisfaction. Performs refuse collection as directed.
Duty 13: Performs related grounds keeping duties, snow removal duties in adverse weather conditions, refuse collection duties, minor plumbing duties, minor electrical duties, minor mechanical duties, communication duties and other related duties as required.
Duty 14: Ensures a safe and comfortable environment for patient, staff and visitors.
Duty 15: Accepts and responds to emergency codes as required.
Duty 16: Utilizes available time effectively.
Duty 17: Completes certification for Department of Transportation regulations regarding medical waste disposal. Performs medical waste collection, storage and transportation as directed. Signs medical waste manifest paperwork and returns to SRC office.
