Join our Financial & Administrative Services office as an Office Associate and provide administrative support for school finance, homeschooling, and central accounting. You will help a variety of school districts, students, and our own employees!

This team has a LOT of fun working together to complete this important work! If you have superb detail orientation and accuracy skills, good communication (and maybe some jokes), and love learning, check it out! (jokes not required)

Pay Range:

$15.120 - $17.387/hour

This range is based upon available budget funds. The selected candidate's skills, abilities, education, and experience will determine the salary offer within this posted range.

Examples of Work
  • Provides support for the Exempt school program. Responds to basic questions, refers visitors, emails, and calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail, prepares letters, and other outgoing materials.
  • Assists with payroll, processing vouchers, and consolidated billings for NDE offices.
  • Processes expense reimbursements, pays invoices, and submits accounts payable and receivable information in the State of Nebraska accounting system. Processes and approves daily deposits.
  • Assists with finance-related updates to emails, forms, and follow-up sent to school districts and Educational Service Units (ESUs).
  • Updates project calendar and monitors deadlines.
  • Coordinates all logistics of meetings and workshops (e.g., travel, registration, invites, lodging) and prepares necessary contracts. Processes payments for workshops vendors and participants. Serves as liaison between NDE and venue staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Qualifications / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Postsecondary degree (or credential) in office management, administrative assistant, or related fields. Experience with basic accounting procedures, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and WordPress.
