Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for personal safety and monitor the safety of others
  • Must follow the quality management system policy and procedures
  • Communicate with previous shift lead about key information
  • Obtain all necessary supplies
  • Assure all supplies are in place when needed
  • Constant monitoring of all quality checks
  • Monitor safety practices to assure all procedures are being followed correctly
  • Monitor dust collection system
  • Troubleshoot machine problems
  • Gather all necessary forms and file in appropriate place
  • Enter data
  • Driving lift truck to move full and/or empty bins of off quality pellets
  • Driving lift truck to move full and/or empty bins of slab waste, trim waste, milling dust.
  • Driving lift truck to unload trailers loaded with milling dust, slab waste, and pallets.
  • Enter data into SAP.
  • Inspect quality of processed material, noting size and dimension accuracies for a quality final product
  • Verify the correct heats and formula.
  • Identify and report worn parts immediately.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
  • Troubleshoot and report machine malfunctions.
  • Perform proper and efficient changeovers.
  • Use the correct settings on assigned equipment.
  • Prevent defects through the process.
  • Follow setup and run procedures, safety and quality procedures as documented.
  • Must be willing and able to stand for long periods of time and work flexible hours.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning.
  • Complete all documentation accurately.
  • Make machine adjustments when necessary.
  • Must follow the quality management system policy and procedures.
  • Communicate production or quality issues to appropriate team members.
  • Inspect and sort off quality product when needed.
  • Operate lift truck, overhead crane, hoist.
  • Job rotation and relief of other team members.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must have a High School or GED diploma
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Flexible for all shifts
  • Computer efficient (Basic Excel and Word skills)
  • 2 years mechanical or maintenance experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Commitment to company values and safe work practices
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Prior leadership experience desired
  • Lift Truck Operation Certified
