Campus Shared Services team uses ethical, innovative, and sustainable business practices to provide excellent customer service, convenience, and value to the IU Bloomington campus auxiliaries and the university community. This shared service center focuses on effective, cost efficient, and policy compliant solutions while leading financial oversight and strategy. This unit is responsible for establishing and maintaining the fiscal integrity of all units within Bloomington campus auxiliaries that report to the Vice Provost for Finance and Administration (VPFA).
Job Summary
As the primary fiscal administrator for IU Bloomington campus auxiliaries, this position has fiduciary responsibility for units that have a significant impact on the campus community and student experience. This position leads financial oversight and strategy for campus auxiliaries and supervises the staff in the centralized shared service center, which provides the following services to campus auxiliaries: compliance, reporting, accounting, application administration, capital planning, procurement, payroll, accounts payable, travel, and financial analysis and planning.
This position establishes long-term business plans and long-term strategic objectives. Responsible for escalated operational issues, including human resources and/or people management situations. Determines overall budget for financial administration teams of campus auxiliaries. Develops business relationships across the university and externally. Drives innovation and excellence within the area of financial administration.
This Executive Director of Financial Services and Operational Initiatives is responsible for establishing and maintaining the fiscal integrity of all units within Bloomington campus auxiliaries (RC 80) including Housing Operations, IU Dining and Hospitality (including the IU Hotel), Campus Bus, Parking Operations, Fleet Services, Transportation Demand Management, and Distribution and Logistics Services (Document Services, IU Warehouse, IU Surplus, and Mail Services), and Early Childhood Education Services. This position directly oversees financial operations and fiscal strategy for the Bloomington campus auxiliaries. In addition, the position oversees the shared services functions for several auxiliaries within Student Life (RC 70) in partnership with the Vice Provost for Student Life. These units include Residential Life, Housing Assignments, Bradford Woods, Indiana Memorial Union, the IU Student Health Center, and Recreational Sports.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location

This position is eligible for a limited hybrid schedule, subject to change in the future based on business needs and strategic direction of the campus business needs.
Advertised Salary
$150,000 - $175,000 per year commensurate with experience.
