Nordson MEDICAL designs, engineers and manufactures complex devices and components with applications in wound healing, surgical and minimally invasive, fluid management, pulmonology and interventional and structural heart. Our pioneering Advanced Polymers team was the first to manufacture and supply medical balloons to the medical device industry. Nordson MEDICAL works with doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at any point in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

The Engineering Technology Program Manager manages a wide range of programs and projects and ensures deliverables are consistently completed on time, with quality standards, and industry compliance. Responsible for achieving milestone commitments by analyzing and assessing project challenges and planning and controlling project risks/issues. Will engage with engineers, teams, stakeholders, leadership, and outside consultants/ vendors in a cross-functional and multidisciplinary structure to achieve program objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing internal and external cross-functional project teams and complex projects, including initiating phases, developing plans, and controlling budget and execution to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Serves as a point of contact for NETS programs and initiatives across the company.
  • Ensure all peripheral activities are planned, completed, and communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Drives day-to-day project activity to achieve results including solving technical and other project challenges, managing resource conflicts, and breaking down barriers to meet quality and objectives
  • Maintains partnerships with stakeholders, to ensure engineering teams develop the required systems and technology
  • Helps broadcast the goals and trajectory of work being done at various levels across the company, to connect how the higher-level business needs are being served by the technical priorities and decisions.
  • Ensure projects are executed following applicable medical industry procedures and policies.
  • Facilitates high-level program review meetings with teams and stakeholders
  • Prepares for and conducts project phase gate reviews.
  • Creates and maintains dashboards to report on the progress of projects to all stakeholders and the Leadership Team.
  • Prioritize the engineering team project work based on risk, resources, and payback
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Nordson Medical facilities and installations, up to 20-30%


Qualifications, Education, and Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management
  • 5+ years of experience delivering cross-functional and multidisciplinary projects
  • 5+ years of experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior management


Skills and Abilities
  • Experience managing both complex technical projects and programs involving multiple engineering teams.
  • Ability to balance a higher-level holistic view with dependencies between specific projects/ programs.
  • Experience negotiating conflicting requirements or needs between teams and communicating needs to leadership when needed in service of the program/project's broader success.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent group facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Able to interface with all levels of an organization, including cross-functional leadership.
  • Adept at translating technical strategies for communication with various audiences, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience with managing risk and developing and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and projects, meet deadlines, and manage schedule
  • Ability to drive/lead in a matrix structure with persuasion and influence
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suites
