Environmental, Safety, & Health Intern

Position Purpose:

The Safety & Health Intern will support health and safety initiatives as well as engage with sustainability efforts in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

• Support day-to-day reporting, project completion, and data entry for environmental initiatives.

• Review scope emissions data and evaluate the renewable energy portfolio for various reporting purposes.

• Support the expansion of data collection and review through an emissions inventory analysis.

• Complete requests of environmental information for external customers.

• Communicate supply chain sustainability data to stakeholders as needed.

• Review materials, waste streams, dunnage, and container management to assist in determining sustainable or alternative use opportunities.

• Assist with the completion of U.S. compliance reporting for air, water, waste, and Emergency Planning & Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA).

• Participate on the company's ISO14001:1015 audit teams.

• Assist with internal audits and evaluation of environmental system management.

• Assist with the company's Learning Management System training platform and issuing various Environmental Safety and Health (EHS) training as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

• Must be a currently enrolled or recent graduate working toward an environmental, science, or sustainability related degree.

• Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong computer skills, preferably with Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.

• Ability to handle multiple assignments and complete tasks within demanding time frames.

• Self-motivated with solid organizational and planning skills.

• Willingness to travel to other company locations as needed.
