Electronics/Hardware Design Engineer

Scope of Position:

Mestek is seeking a hardware design engineer with extensive embedded microprocessor and mixed signal circuit board design experience to work on a variety of hardware development tasks that will drive the future of our digital control platforms. You will be involved with every aspect of the Hardware Development Life Cycle. We have many new design and next generation projects which will challenge you to apply your skills with the following technologies:

Microcontrollers

Analog and Digital I/O

Stepper Motors

Asynchronous serial communications

Power Supplies

Touchscreen Displays

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to all aspects of product development from concept through production
• Develop electronic circuits to perform functions per requirements
• Generate electrical documentation (schematics, BOMs, test plans)
• Develop prototype circuit boards for verification of design and software development
• Works collaboratively with Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware design engineers
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and react to changing priorities.
• Maintain knowledge of computer engineering trends and new technology

Position Requirements:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years directly applicable work experience
• Must have hardware integration, test and debug experience.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB Design (Altium Software)
• Experience with EMI/EMC fundamentals-concepts within circuit design
• Skills to fabricate, test and debug prototype designs.
• Experience with developing embedded software in C
• Experience with Embedded Operating Systems, Linux Embedded
• Excellent interpersonal skills, written, oral and presentation skills.
• The ability to use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, function generators.
• Track record of driving improvement with quantified results.
