Position: Jr. Electronics Engineer

Job Purpose: 4S - Silversword is seeking a junior to midlevel Electronics Engineer (EE) to work with our Applied Physics Division (APD) on new product development efforts. Under minimal supervision, provide electronics engineering design support to the Applied Physics Division at 4S - Silversword in office and laboratory environments with a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity.

Job Duties Include: The following reflects management's definition of preferable functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

• Circuit Design

o Prepare concepts for communications electronic system design.

o Prepare circuit and circuit card layout and design.

o Digital and analog circuit design capabilities including power and control circuitry.

o Research and acquire electronic components for designed circuits.

o Test and validate circuits for functionality and performance.

• Programmable Circuits

o Test micro-processor and/or Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) components as required for closed loop control operations.

o Develop embedded coding for FPGA and micro-processor functions.

Additionally, candidate should cooperate with the 4S development team, mentor junior personnel as required, and assist in writing reports, plans, proposals, operational documentation, and other documents as required. Must work well in a team environment.

Job Requirements

Military Facility Access: Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass.

Clearance: A security clearance is not required for this position at this time. US Citizenship is required.

Education and Experience: This position requires:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Electronics Engineering and at least four years of relevant experience as an Electronics Design Engineer. Research and Development experience is a plus.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Solidworks PCB, ORCAD, or PADS design software.

• Experience in or work for the U.S. military is also highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25 lbs.
