Role Description

The Director of Scientific & Technical Information (STI) provides strategic oversight of the US implementation of PromoMats (Content Central Vault (CCV)), the center of Zoetis' content management ecosystem. The STI Director directs and supports technology, business process simplification and content management functions to ensure the accurate, compliant, end-to-end lifecycle management of all Zoetis U.S. advertising & promotional materials. This critical role is also responsible for expanding and developing process improvements relating to the Medical, Legal and Regulatory (MLR) process, along with other commercial business processes.

Additionally, the Director is responsible for the 24/7 Zoetis eLibrary that provides quick, seamless, and easy access to curated critical library resources globally. The library is highly used and a core resource in Resource & Development and U.S. Operations.

RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, U.S. Operations. The STI Director interacts with individuals and groups from all Zoetis functions participating in the MLR process including external creative agency partners. The Director works closely with business analysts in the Zoetis Tech & Digital (ZTD) IT department, and all eLibrary stakeholders including Research & Development and all library third party content publishers and vendors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

•Effectively coach and develop of Library Information Manager and 2-3 contractors dependent on project load.

•CCV PromoMats and Process Lead managing a comprehensive and complex business solution that supports MLR and automates the end-to-end processes from creation to approval to distribution to withdrawal.

•Lead the content management framework within CCV to drive standards, compliance, and alignment across all areas within CCV. Includes CCV training and user standards. Partner with Zoetis International to ensure alignment across Zoeits.

•Lead continuous improvement activities for business content processes within MLR and beyond to develop capabilities that accelerate organizational effectiveness, simplification, and incorporation of industry best practices. Develop monitoring processes through KPI reporting in addition to integration of quality control into workflow processes.

•Effectively coach, consult and partner with internal and external stakeholders including all participants engaged in the MLR process including Coordinators, Marketing, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, all creative agency partners, VMIPS, ZTD and Veeva. Library stakeholder engagement includes R&D, Legal, Technical Services and 50+ vendors.

• Manage Library Management Solutions, administer library budget, negotiate all contracts.

Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in Information Systems, Library Science, Business Administration or Marketing field with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Master's degree a plus and/or demonstrated experience in library and information management
  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred
  • Veeva certification preferred
Technical Skills Requirement:
  • Must have strong PromoMats experience
  • A strong understanding of content management platforms including library management solutions
  • Experience with the MLR (Medical Legal Regulatory) review process, including knowledge of pharmaceutical industry guidelines
  • Experience transforming customer requirements into effective, creative, business process solutions
  • Ability to effectively engage senior internal stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience effectively managing teams
  • Experience handling multiple projects
  • Ability to prioritize key projects
  • Strong attention to detail
