Job Summary
This position leads Technology Centers of Excellence (CoE) to provide cross-functional technical advisory, governance and support services for shared, enterprise technologies including Salesforce, MuleSoft ESB, and provides direct application development and maintenance services related to cross line of business applications such as IBM FileNet P8 content management system and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software. Leads functional and matrixed development teams to develop, nurture, and approve solutions covering scope, resources, schedule, approach, risks and assumptions. Through expert-level knowledge and proficiency, facilitates collaborative development of technology strategy, roadmaps, and leading practices. Regularly evaluates system capabilities against business landscape, partnering with Enterprise Architecture to identify opportunities to leverage, expand, or modify current technologies and recommend new/emerging technologies to address functional gaps. Incubates technologies and divests to application development teams at maturity. Oversees vendor activities related to support and delivery functions. Directs release management activities of matrixed applications as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads Salesforce Center of Excellence, ensuring both distributed and directly-managed Salesforce development teams stay current with rapidly-changing technologies and platform capabilities, exact appropriate solution design to maximize platform homogeny and value, and follow system and process requirements and best practices. Provides 1st level Salesforce ticket analysis and triage activities, distributing to subject area development teams for 2nd level analysis and resolution, as appropriate.
  • Leads Application Integration Center of Excellence, modernizing and improving features, scalability and reliability of Middleware technologies, evangelizing appropriate Middleware technology adoption, and ensuring technical governance services including that of the Internal API layer for application integration which supports external and internal clients and third-party applications and services.
  • Leads IBM FileNet P8 and RPA application development, maintenance, and support activities
  • Analyzes technologies under management and dependent applications to identify opportunities for improvement and standardization, including application and infrastructure rationalization based on strategic business goals, value, and cost; and flexible, agile, and scalable global platforms.
  • Through leadership and mentorship of technical leads both under management and otherwise, facilitate a culture of collaboration, learning, knowledge sharing, and adoption of leading practices, promoting an unfaltering mission to drive innovation in comprehensive, cross-functional solution delivery and support. Manages and maintains department budget.
  • Look externally at technology trends and where the industry is going to provide recommendations and roadmaps for future Flagstar enterprise solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field required.
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in a Bank or Financial Services environment.
  • 5+ years of experience directly leading and developing a team of application development professionals.
  • Strong experience leading planning and execution activities for large-scale enterprise systems and projects.
  • Strong experience developing and implementing enterprise solution and integration strategies, vision, and guiding principles based on best practices, standards and business needs.
  • Experience implementing policies, standards, guidelines that direct software development lifecycle activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into high-performing technical solutions.
  • Extensive experience in multiple, diverse infrastructure and application technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of database structures, relational and non.
  • Experience in technology roadmap development and implementation.
  • Strong leadership, communication (written and oral), and collaboration skills, dealing with fast-moving, complex scenarios supporting multiple initiatives and goals, across matrixed stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT security practices and integrations with application authorization and access.
  • Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering along with instruction and leading teams.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work appropriately considering risk, financial impact and expectations of delivery.
  • Experience driving change and effecting process improvement through organizational influence.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute cross-functionally with both technical and business personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations of complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Proven track record of achieving results in challenging environments.
  • Salesforce, MuleSoft, Apigee, and IBM FileNet P8 technical experience preferred.
