Position Summary

Trinity College seeks a talented communications professional for the Director of Digital Communications position to direct and manage the College's website. This person will be a digital strategist at heart with the responsibility for the Trinity's overall public web presence, including the College's primary websites and web-based communications. They will strategically plan updates to technology to promote contemporary best practices and to evolve Trinity's digital footprint. This person will be a leader of digital communications across the campus to support Trinity's goals and strategies, by partnering with offices and departments across the College to develop and implement strategic content solutions. Manages the College's e-publications and internal communications practices.

  • Manages the strategy for Trinity College's digital communications (i.e., website, email, text, etc.) and oversees future enhancements and designs. Leads the planning for the strategic direction of key web properties and e-publications.
  • Manages the content management system (CMS) of the website. Provides quality control for website content by ensuring content is relevant and updated. Manages the process for regular content review of key pages and ensure all pages are reviewed on a regular schedule.
  • Maintains the integrity of the college's visual identity and consistency with the College's branding and messaging guidelines, and writing, voice, and tone guidelines.
  • Creates or manages digital design projects.
  • Serves as a key liaison to all departments with a web presence on the main Trinity website. Leads the rollout of training users across the campus, providing strategic counsel on web projects and solutions to clients across the College.
  • Coordinates with colleagues in Information Services on development projects and back-end services to manage and continually evolve the college website and related tools, and to respond to and troubleshoot users' service interruptions.
  • Supports the production of the college's e-publications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years related experience
  • Experience working in WordPress, front-end design, user experience, and information architecture
  • Experience working with email distribution programs such as iModules or Constant Contact
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in communication technology, maintaining principles and best practices of a multimedia environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and analyze data, develop reports, and efficiently solve technical problems
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with leadership, faculty, staff and external stakeholders/constituencies, with an emphasis on customer-service
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Exceptional communication (written and oral) skills and the ability to train others
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience with web editing, design or content is a plus
