Director of Data Science If you are a Director of Data Science with experience, please read on! An automobile insurance company based in Torrance is looking for a Director of Data Science to lead their team of data scientists. If you have 7-10 years of experience in data science with at least 2-3 managerial experience, and is looking for a challenging role with a rapidly growing insurtech company, this role is for you.
What You Will Be Doing You will be responsible for leading a team of 5 data scientists to design, develop, and implement methods, processes, and systems to analyze diverse and high volumes of complex data retrieved from automobiles .
What You Need for this Position Must have:
- At least 7-10 years of experience as a data scientist at an insurance company or an insurtech company
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative or technical field such as mathematics, economics, computer science, or engineering
- Proficient in SQL and database management
- Staff management experience
- Working knowledge of systems and programming languages such as Linux, Java, AWS, AWS IoT Core, Kinesis, Kafka, SQL, Python, and RDBMS

Nice to have:
- MS or PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or other related field
- Experience with automotive telematics or connected car
