As Director, Engineering Program Management, you will lead a team of Engineering Program Managers that are responsible for sustaining the best-in-class, tough-as-nails product that YETI is known for. This individual will interface with workstream and business owners across Industrial Design, Design Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, IT, Product, Finance, Legal, and beyond to define, plan, and execute programs that support the strategic goals of the organization. We do whatever it takes to support all products, across all categories, across all our global supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Own delivery of new products according to product roadmap
  • Guide a team of Engineering Program Managers who are responsible to lead multiple NPD projects each from concept to in-market launch. Manage resources according to business needs and priorities
  • Champion the process improvement, training and adherence to YETI's stage-gate NPD process
  • Drive accountability within the team and cross-functional organization, related to new product development, maintenance, and customization activities
  • Create discipline around process and ensure consistency from project-to-project
  • Partner with cross-functional team leaders for project prioritization and team alignment
  • Be accountable for all aspects of schedule, budget, cost, and scope for assigned products
  • Coach and support staff to ensure individual and team success. Set goals and objectives, create development plans and oversee performance assessment process
  • Build relationships with vendors and supply chain partners to ensure design for manufacturability, production process planning, capacity, execution, tooling and process approval, product validation, and launch into mass production
  • Collaborate with internal partners in Category Management, Industrial Design, Engineering, Sourcing & Procurement, Quality, Finance, Marketing and other staff
  • Lead team meetings that drive cross-functional activity. Report project status and project updates

Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in Engineering Program Management with a proven track record of successfully managing projects to completion
  • At least 6 years of experience leading project management professionals
  • Innovative and creative problem solver with meticulous attention to detail and a stickler for time management
  • Experience in relevant consumer product goods preferred
  • Open to bi-directional feedback and able to apply it to improve themselves, their team, and YETI
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to filter and distill the relevant information to the right audience
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity with the ability to quickly propose solutions given limited guidance
  • Skilled in simplifying the complex, communicating with technical and non-technical team members effectively
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and production is a plus
  • Consumer product experience is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus
