As Director Beef and Pork Transformation, you will be part of our Global Beef and Pork team. You will be primarily responsible for partnering with the Beef, Pork, Case Ready and Value-Added Organization (approx. $25bn in revenue) and other corporate enabling functions through a wide array of leadership, change management, engagement, introduce new solutions, data analytics and system integration. Ensure that the solutions being considered align with the strategic direction of the company and are of high quality and will result in a significant financial ROI for the assigned functional areas. Solve challenges faced not only by Tyson beef and Pork, but industry at large.

This role reports directly into the VP F&A Beef, Pork CRVA Transformation Officer. Responsible for forming collaboration and innovation to set digital transformation and business process initiatives, managing communications and change management plans, building complex project plans and executing with low cost, efficiency and ensuring high adoption and successful outcomes.

Act as a business champion, internal consultant, transformation catalyst and proactive strategic driver. Guide operational business leaders in understanding and usage of quality, continuous improvement, and new process excellence methodologies by establishing links between process management initiatives and business strategies and identifying and prioritizing high-impact opportunities. Influence ideas at all levels of the organization using structured thinking, hypothesis creation, and business-case style approaches. Managing change is critical in this role, this includes leading collaboration, change management, innovation, and adoption for successful business transformation initiatives with key business partners to ensure significant value is achieved. Collaboration with key personnel is critical to ensure transformation initiatives generate positive impact and change is supported with adequate capacity and capability. This role will also be required to successfully build credible partnerships across business functions, stakeholders, and consultants to achieve intended value propositions.

Business Digital Transformation works in close coordination with SAP and Non-SAP programs and relevant consultants to ensure that end-to-end transformation is achieved, and program team members have the right tools, business processes and support available at the right time and place to be able to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.

In addition, you'll get to:

  • Partner with Beef and Pork business leaders, Global CIO & CTO, Global CFO, Segment leadership, and IT leaders to drive business goals, vision and objectives.
  • Oversee, direct, and organize the Transformation project work within the context of cross functional project teams supporting initiatives
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, curiosity, and innovation that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Simplify and reimagine processes to create transformational experiences.
  • Identify potential barriers to business change and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful implementation.
  • Ensure project team members receive timely and appropriate feedback, training and development in coordination with staff line managers.
  • Support building the capacity of staff engaged in initiatives at the business, operations and Corp levels to adopt and realize change quickly.
  • Escalate and communicate issues timely to the Transformation project lead and IT
  • Lead programs and projects using innovative, agile and project management tools and techniques in the development and implementation of the business transformation.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Accounting/Finance/Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, or Agriculture/Animal Science Degree. Advanced degree or PMP Certification preferred.

Work Experience & Key Competencies Required:
  • This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with Beef and Pork or Protein Industry with experience working at a field level as well as HQ levels.
  • Knowledge or expertise in IT systems, new technologies and Mainframe systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with others, both internally and externally
  • Proven track record of success implementing business transformation and digital initiatives.
  • Strong, positive track-record of innovation and collaboration - able to work with diverse teams in diverse locations, engaging their input and commitment to success.
  • Highly organized, managing risk, decision-making skills working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A systematic approach to work maintaining accountability, plans and demonstrations of success.
  • Excellent communication skills; written, oral and listening.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative, innovative and agile with the ability to think outside the box

  • Exposure to Six Sigma or similar process improvement tool.
  • Travel: Up to 50% (as needed)

Preferred System Experience:
  • SAP, Power BI, Anaplan, Mainframe, Project Management Skills
  • Production Planning Tools, Forecasting, etc.
