RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Spring, TX.Summary:A DevOps Engineer plays a critical role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams. They focus on streamlining software development processes, ensuring efficient code deployment, and maintaining robust infrastructure. As part of the team working on the Carbon Service, the DevOps Engineer will contribute to enhancing the existing architecture, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring smooth operations.Responsibilities:- DevOps Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, test, and deploy changes to existing software
- Enhance the company's IT infrastructure security protocols
- Identify manual processes that can be automated
- Consider the organization's entire IT infrastructure when making changes and improvements
- Maintain and improve the company's cloud infrastructure
- Work closely with development teams to ensure efficient code deployment
- Evaluate new technology alternatives and vendor products
- Implement best practices for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment
- Conduct pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance
- Manage and automate Hybrid Cloud - OnPrem Solutions & AWS cloud-based production systems
- Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems
- Handle system troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms
- As a DevOps Engineer, you will provide critical system security using best practices and cloud security solutions
- Troubleshoot issues within the Kubernetes cluster, such as pod failures or scaling problems
- Work closely with developers to improve unit testing
- Optimize Elastic Load Balancing across the service
- Find creative solutions for stringent scenarios (e.g., Chaos Testing)
- Test integration with other portals before pushing to production
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
- Experience with Docker, Docker Registry, and Kubernetes (k8s) management
- Experience with GitHub Actions (especially GO functions)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles
- Familiarity with Python for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) ingestion
- Proficiency in creating Kubernetes manifests (YAML files)
- Proficient in Linux OS setup and administration (Ubuntu, RHEL)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for automation and continuous improvement
- Ability to manage and debug issues within the Kubernetes environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
