Description: Our client is currently seeking a Day Shift Registered Nurse
Hours 6AM to 2:30PM
As a Registered Nurse in our correctional healthcare team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering both direct and indirect nursing care that addresses the psychological, psychosocial, and emotional needs of our patients. Your adept communication skills will foster respect, concern, and courtesy in all interpersonal interactions. Utilizing your current knowledge, you will help create a secure healthcare environment and adhere to personnel policies to enhance the unit's operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide both direct and indirect nursing care to meet the multifaceted needs of our inmate patients.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, cultivating an environment of respect, concern, and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
- Utilize your up-to-date knowledge to ensure a safe healthcare environment for patients.
- Adhere to personnel policies, contributing to the smooth operation of the healthcare unit.
- Maintain annual licensure and credentialing requirements for nursing personnel within the program.
- Conduct and meticulously document medical evaluations for inmate patients, aligning with industry standards such as NCCHC, NJ 10-A, ACA, and PBNDS.
- Perform thorough assessments of inmate patients across various institutional settings, including intake, emergency situations, chronic care clinics, and medical units.
- Collaborate closely with primary care providers and healthcare professionals to ensure the provision of consistent, timely, and appropriate patient care.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state where the facility is located (a current copy of the license must be kept on file at the facility at all times).
- Possession of a current CPR/BLS card, along with demonstrated cognitive skills.
- A minimum of one year of RN experience.
- Previous experience in a correctional healthcare environment is highly preferred.
