Cylinder Asset Manager

The Cylinder Asset Manager will oversee the successful management of LG&E cylinder, microbulk, and other safety critical assets throughout the Regional network. This individual will also provide guidance to Region Operations Managers/Directors on asset utilization/optimization throughout the South Region. This position will have direct and full accountability for Houston, Amarillo, and Dallas cylinder requalification operations.

Cylinder Asset Manager

• Responsible for day-to-day Cylinder Maintenance operations including maintenance related items for Houston, Dallas, and Amarillo.
• Direct accountability for lower-level supervisors across 2 locations (Houston and Amarillo).
• Works extensively with Operations/Asset Managers across LG&E to ensure that assets are optimally utilized across the network.
• Makes recommendations and/or decisions regarding asset purchases/redeployment which impact plant and regional inventory management capabilities and ultimately depreciation costs for the region.
• Manages working stock programs for the South Region (East and West Gulf float plans)
• Manages a capital budget of $4MM to $7MM annually for cylinders, microbulk, critical spares, planning and procurement.
• Maintains cylinder supplier and maintenance provider relationships.
• Manages surplus cylinder redeployment and bi-annual physical inventory.
• Ensures that a cylinder utilization of 75% or better is maintained.
• Implements cylinder tracking solutions.
• Serves as JDE Subject Matter Expert for cylinder requisitioning process.
• Orders all cylinder and other asset needs through JDE process.
• Responsible for process efficiencies including cost per cylinder tested.
• Responsible for managing all South Region new business requests.
• Works closely with Regional Management for South Region asset needs.
• Partners with Corporate Asset Group for non-Regional asset needs.
• Closely monitors monthly KPI's for areas of opportunity for improvement on a cost/cylinder basis.
• Manages monthly 3rd party Cylinder Maintenance expenses including but not limited to high pressure testing, liquid cylinder testing, LPG cylinder requalification, and cylinder supplies.

• Bachelor's Degree required / Master's Degree preferred
• 5-10 years of asset/budget management/process safety/operations experience preferred
• Six Sigma, Productivity, and Process Management experience required
• 3-5 years of management experience required
• Strong communication skills required
• Must be able to work 1st shift: 6:00am - 4:00pm (Monday - Friday)
• Travel: 10-25% (State of Texas)
