Digital Realty's Cyber Resilience Team is the front line for all things pertaining to our company's digital security posture. The Cyber SOC Engineer position, involves the individual working as part of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team and helps in monitoring the environment, identifying and responding to security threats that put the company at risk. The engineer will be responsible for leading-edge solutions that are intended to improve the security posture of the company. With their domain expertise, the engineer is expected to provide thought leadership and provide sound technical mentorship on how to respond to security incidents.

What you'll do

• Acknowledge, analyze, and validate incidents triggered from correlated events through SIEM solution
• Acknowledge, analyze, and validate incidents received through other reporting mechanisms such as email, phone calls, management directions, etc.
• Collection of necessary logs that could help with incident containment and the security investigation process
• Escalate validated and confirmed incidents to SOC Director
• Undertake first stages of false positive and false negative analysis
• Understand the structure and the meaning of logs from different log sources such as FW, IDS, Windows DC, network appliances, AV and antimalware software, email security etc.
• Work with matrix and contract SME to improve Digital Realty's Security Program
• Assist in Threat and Vulnerability Management Program
• Configure security tooling
• Incident Response

What you'll need

• Associates Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related field from a 2-year accredited university, preferably but not required
• 2-3 Years' Cyber Experience, preferably working within Tech, Telecom, Network Operations, or a related field
• Experience with EDR, SIEM, SOC
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional Cyber Security Certifications (SEC+, CISSP, GIAC, CEH)
