Loyola University Medical Center is a large, urban, academic medical center. The coordinator will collaborate with the nursing leadership team to lead data requirements for numerous regulatory and recognition programs. In particular, the coordinator will support the ongoing ANCC Magnet recognition program, which is the gold standard in recognizing nursing excellence. Loyola University Medical Center is a three time Magnet designated hospital, with a fourth designation occurring in calendar year 2023. This highly visible position will support the executive nursing team, including the chief nursing officer, magnet program director, and executive directors of clinical operations to make effective use of information and data to support quality improvement, safety, and workforce engagement initiatives. Additionally, the coordinator will be a key contributor to research, innovation, and evidence based practice projects conducted by the department of nursing, and as such have opportunities to co-author and contribute to scholarly work.
The Business Administrator develops and supports effective, comprehensive information management critical to analytical and business support for the designated Executive Directors and Operational VPs. Responsible for operational reporting, budgetary/financial reporting and financial pro-forma development in collaboration with finance and process improvement activities within the division. The Business Administrator organizes services to achieve organizational goals. Responsible for achieving a level of shared operational excellence across designated clinical programs by brining together the resources necessary to continuously improve the delivery of services consistent with Loyola Medicine's standards for patient care, customer service and regulatory compliance.

Develops and provides effective and comprehensive management information for leaders within the designated clinical programs. Provides necessary information to ensure optimization of resources. Develops and meets departmental budgets according to established procedures. Ensures effective and efficient utilization of resources. Provides budget information and decision support. Ensures the effective and efficient fiscal operations by developing and implementing financial and operational systems, policies, procedures and controls. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and guidelines related to reimbursement and ensuring staff is educated and up to date on said changes. Perform cost, volume and productivity analyses.

  • Communicates with executive directors and operational vice presidents to ensure efficient and smooth operations. Provides process improvement and project management support for key projects identified as priorities within the division
  • Manage and coordinate management of information systems, capital acquisition and facility renovations.
  • Directs the development of policies, procedures and provides input into staffing patters essential to the day-to day operation of all departments. Provide input to executive directors to promote effective and efficient daily operation and long-term effectiveness of designated clinical programs reporting to position.
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain and vendors to support the Medical Economic Outcomes Committee. Support and implement efforts for standardization of supplies and equipment utilized. Develop and maintain initiatives directly impacting cost efficiencies
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by contributing to and coordinating with other managers and departments. Utilizes conflict resolution skills to promote a positive working environment, and positive morale among employees.
Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:
  • Required: Bachelors Degree
  • Preferred: Masters Degree
  • Specify Degree(s): Business management, business administration or other related field
Minimum Experience:
  • Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
  • Preferred: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt. EPIC Optime certification
