Basic Function

The purpose of this role is to manage and own the contracting process for the Co-Products, Americas business. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring that our commercial contracts for feedstocks, co-products and/or purchases of raw materials are accurate and consistent with the business plan. This role will be responsible for the comprehensive and timely review of sales and purchase contracts to promptly identify and resolve contract issues prior to submission to the Legal Department and for obtaining approvals and processing of contracts.

This position reports to the Director, Co-Products Americas and is located at our North American Headquarters in Downtown Houston. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan, parking subsidy and employee discounts.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact and owner of the contract process, including but not limited to timely and accurate routing of all incoming and outgoing contracts, invoices, and/or other documentation from customers and vendors on a business or mode-specific basis.
• Establish relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors/customers, clearly understand vendor and system requirements.
• Effectively deliver and facilitate communication across supply chain, legal, business management, customers, vendors and disbursements to ensure contracts, invoices and other documentation are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner. Proactively provide solutions to time-sensitive needs.
• Assure accurate and timely entry of data and route documents for approval, and/or amend spreadsheets to track term and spot contracts.
• Facilitate collaboration between vendors, customers and other areas of the organization as needed to ensure discrepancies related to contracts and/or invoices are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
• Maintain contract lists including contract expiration notifications.
• Maintain LyondellBasell General Terms and Conditions with counterparties and list of joint master GT&Cs and amendments.
• Interface with legal to develop objections to contracts and resolution of disputed contract terms with suppliers and customers. Generate confirmation response letters for review by legal.
• Draft spot and term contracts using standard templates and coordinate communications and routing/issuing to all affected parties i.e. marketing, pricing, inventory planning, customer service, counterparty.
• Review contract authorization forms (CAF) and/or broker confirmations for contract accuracy and propose revisions as appropriate. Manage DOA (Delegation of Authority) approvals and routing for all contracts.
• Demonstrate independent knowledge of the Enterprise system (SAP) and extended system tools such as Ariba, Livelink, and DocuSign. Assist others with full utilization of these tools.
• Operate with a solution-oriented mindset with regard to process improvements. Assist with change implementation for extended system improvements or other supply chain projects.
• Process miscellaneous orders and invoices including, but not limited to validating invoice accuracy, business approval, and submit for payment.
• Partner with peers to provide solutions, guidance to resolve customer or business related problems and make improvements to the contracting process.
• Model LyondellBasell core competencies with internal and external customers.

Min. Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have 3 years' relevant, industry-related experience.
• A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Will consider candidates with a High School Diploma that have at least 8 years' relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

• Composed in time-sensitive situations, comfortable delivering difficult news.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with extended tools.
• Comfortable manipulating and analyzing data.
• Experience with ERP software such as SAP is strongly desired.
