Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for an experienced Compression Mechanic. This is a long term contract position supporting a clients assets in Snook, TX.

Location: Snook, TX *Locals preferred. Must live within a 50-60 mile radius. Not rotational work. No per diem or lodging offered.**

Schedule: 5x2 (Mon-Friday); 40 hours a week - Full time with opportunities for training and career growth

Other: All offers are contingent upon clearing a full drug screen, clean background and motor vehicle history report.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required

  • Daily Operation and Maintenance of compressors, Glycol dehydration unit, B-Tex unit, incinerator, slop tanks, sumps, transfer pumps, "control air" air compressors and all equipment associated with compressor
  • Advanced knowledge of machines, materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction, operating or repair ofcompression units and Dehydrators.
  • Compressor mechanic certification preferred, with 7+ years of direct compression operations and maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand, ideas presented through verbal and performance reports.
  • Primary point of contact between field operations for their assigned area and the compressor rental/service companies.
  • Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Assist operating field personnel with troubleshooting of mechanical failure issues. Determine the cause of failure to identify ways to prevent future failures. This may include training of personnel relating to compressor performance,design, troubleshooting, failure analysis and environmental concerns.
  • Provide data on mechanical failures so trends or widespread problems can be identified early.
  • Support EH&S departments in ensuring compliance with Air Emissions permits.
  • Coordinate with operations staff to establish PM schedules.
  • All other duties as assigned


Skills / Qualifications

Professional Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• 2+ years related experience.
• General knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations
• Ability to perform simple mathematic calculations, good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills and have a good safety and driving record
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC based computer applications and be willing to be a team member
