The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is recruiting a Communications Specialist to support university-wide goals related to undergraduate retention and student success. Driven by these goals, a new Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) technology solution is being employed across UNL and the Communication Specialist will be instrumental in developing and coordinating the student-focused CRM communications. The position will be supported by a multi-year grant that also supports teams of faculty and staff working specifically to increase degree completion and close equity gaps for at-promise scholars.
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for planning, crafting, and delivering critical messages that inform and promote undergraduates' actions related to academic behaviors (priority registration, academic advising, probation) as well as high-impact practices (undergraduate research, fellowship applications, academic honorary societies, etc.). The communications specialist will be responsible for ensuring a process for tracking timelines and performing project management duties as required or assigned. The communications specialist is responsible for coordinating effective messaging across multiple units and channels, developing content that aligns with the university's retention, degree completion and equity goals, and following best practices as determined by University Communication.
The communication specialist will have knowledge of college students as an audience, and the ability to apply that knowledge on the language, format, and timing of critical messages. The Communication Specialist reports to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Undergraduate Education while engaging with multiple campus-wide groups, colleges and teams focused on student success.
