Title: Cloud Platform Engineering Lead

Location: Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Indianapolis, IN; Cincinnati, OH;

Responsible for full delivery of end to end development, maintenance and operations on Cloud Platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads Cloud platform and operations
  • Guides junior team members and supports SM and PM with planning and task assignment
  • In addition to designing solutions for complex problems, performs technical design reviews and code reviews.
  • Creates automated container images (Windows and Linux) deployment using Helm charts
  • Creates and updates Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines necessary for cloud migration
  • Implement improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.
  • Refactors configuration and caching of applications to leverage cloud and cloud native architecture
  • Support integration and data teams in integration testing
  • Creates automations necessary for cloud disaster recovery
  • Responsible for delivery of application cloud transformation with disaster recover
  • Provides production support, incident, and problem management
  • Participates in Agile team planning, demos, backlog refinement, and standups
  • Ensures user stories acceptance criteria/ definition of done are met.
  • Owns the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary.
  • Develops and owns list of final enhancements.
  • Develops and defines scope and objectives and supervises the preparation of technical and/or functional specifications from with platforms will be written.
  • Owns the technical development environment and works on the Enterprise team.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years related experience; multi platform, multi-dimensional experience, and expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • 7+ years experience as Systems or software engineer
  • 3-5 years of hands on experience with multiple automations and scripting.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with various design patterns and building with component architecture for re-architecture is a plus.
Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies:
  • Experience with cloud stack development in AWS/Google, etc.
  • Experience with Redhat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or other Kubernetes based container services and related automation.
  • Strong understanding and experience of CI/CD process, Helm charts for on prem as well as on cloud deployment is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge with databases like MongoDB, Redis, Oracle, etc.
  • Team player and good communicator
  • Good knowledge of cloud migration with robust security management and application monitoring process is a plus.
  • Understands cloud networking, load balancing, identity policy management, firewalls, etc.
  • Working with Elastic Elk stack, dashboards like Grafana, Prometheus is a plus.
  • Understanding of Service Mesh Istio and other tools like Jaegar, Kiali, etc. is a plus
  • AWS certifications are a plus
