ECS is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office.

ECS is seeking a talented Cloud Database Engineer to support a strategic CIO program in support of our DHS CISA Client. The scope of this program is to enhance enterprise services and solutions to this DHS component, as part of an integrated evaluation, integration, strategy, design, implementation, and operational maintenance program. This position is located in Ballston, VA (Arlington) with option for routine remote work.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, update, manage and refine information systems
• Install, configure, maintain, update, and manage Database platforms (Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Understand database management principles and functions to ensure healthy management and scalability of database services including security and performance
• Ensure system components maintain compliance with client requirements
• Examine vulnerabilities and determine actions to mitigate them
• Coordinate and/or provide support for applications and operations
• Recommend, schedule, and/or implement repairs within the environment

Required Skills:

• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to successfully maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)/DHS Suitability, with the potential to obtain a clearance up to TS/SCI
• At least 3-5years of experience managing, designing, building, and implementing enterprise database environments both relational and non-relational/NoSQL
• At least 3 years of experience related to systems administration and systems
• At least 3 years of experience with Cloud Platforms and Database technologies on cloud to include AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Experience with Relational Database models and services (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Non-Relational Cloud Databases and/or NoSQL (Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB)
• Experience monitoring, performing updates, upgrades, testing, and other associated preventative maintenance and support functions related to Database Platforms
• Experience supporting reporting and integration/analytic functions within database platforms
  engineering in support of applications and workloads connected to database platforms
• Experience producing technical documentation to communicate system designs and technological analysis

Desired Skills:

• Prior DHS experience and possessing a DHS Entry on Duty/DHS Suitability
• Active TS/SCI
• Familiarity with Government Cyber Mission Space and legal constraints applicable to civilian Government Agencies (FISMA, FIPS, SecOps, etc.)
• Experience in assessment, evaluation, and documentation of client environment, infrastructure, process, operations
• Ability to interface with all levels from end-users to senior management and contract team members
• Experience with Data Warehousing and Analytic capabilities and solutions
