Job Summary
The Clinical Social Worker I/II (CSW I/II) position is part of the Behavioral Health Services team at the 1930 Market Street Center and is responsible for providing mental health and substance use services to individuals and groups who have persistent mental illness challenges and/or are living with HIV/AIDS.  This position is part of a larger multidisciplinary behavioral health services team that includes psychiatrist, nurses, social workers, marriage and family therapist, substance use counselors, case managers and psychologist.

Required Qualifications
CSW I:
*    Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related counseling field from an accredited school of social work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
*    Within 12 months of employment, successful completion of SF Department of Public Health Involuntary Hold/5150 certification

CSW II: In addition to the above:
*    Possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position

Note: Physical/health screening required.
Preferred Qualifications
*    1 year of direct clinical experience in the treatment of multiply diagnosed clients (mental health conditions, substance use disorder, medical issues, etc.)
*    1 year of experience coordinating care with service providers
*    1 year of experience in facilitating groups with multiply diagnosed clients
*    Fluent in Spanish, with written and verbal proficiency and past professional experience utilizing Spanish in Clinical Work
*    Familiar with Avatar 
*    Experience with documenting according to Medi-Cal standards in Avatar for Mental Health Medi-Cal symptoms
*    Understanding of psychosocial issues facing the LGBTQ and HIV
*    Understanding/experience of Harm Reduction and Motivational interviewing
*    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*    Demonstrated excellence in reliability and attendance
License/Certification
CSW I: 
*    Within 12 months of employment, successful completion of SF Department of Public Health Involuntary Hold/5150 certification

The Alliance Health Project (AHP) is a community-based LGBTQ+ and HIV-focused clinic located at 1930 Market Street in San Francisco. We provide psychotherapy, substance-use counseling, support groups, psychiatry, sexual health services, clinical traineeship, and provider education and training. Our multi-disciplinary staff are a client-centered, collaborative, harm reduction-oriented team. We have continued to grow as a community-based clinic by anticipating and addressing the changing needs of our LGBTQ+ and HIV community members for more than 35 years.  Our process of continuous improvement of service to our community includes a strong focus on cultural humility and anti-racist service provision.
