Job Title:CLAS Fiscal & Administrative AssistantDepartment:International Affairs | Latin American Studies Center

The Center for Latin American Studies is a federally designated National Resource Center supported by university and federal funds to foster knowledge and engagement in Latin American studies.

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, the CLAS Fiscal & Program Associate position contributes to the international dimension of The Ohio State University by providing administrative, fiscal, and programming support to the Center for Latin American Studies.

The position is responsible for completing purchase orders, expense reports, and spend authorizations, drafting communications, maintaining spreadsheet databases, preparing presentations, reports, and other materials.

Additional duties

·Consist of assisting with the coordination and scheduling of programs such as conferences, lecture series, film series, and more.

·Coordinating travel logistics for visiting speakers and scholars; and answering inquiries from the public.

Preferred candidate will have experience in working with university funds and sponsored projects accounting and processing, including review of financial statements and reporting. In support of the Center's fundraising initiatives, the Fiscal & Program Associate assists with the grant proposal and budget development, grant reporting, and grant-funded program implementation.

Required:

·Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

·Experience in general administrative practices and procedures (travel, procurement, purchasing card, etc.).

·Excellent interpersonal, communication, research, organization, and project management skills necessary.

·Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations is required.

Desired:

·Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education experience.

·Experience with OSU grant and fiscal procedures.

·Working knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, or other Latin American language strongly desired.

Additional Information:

The target hiring range for this job profile is $20.53 - $27.35 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc
