Role Description:

The Chemical Process Operator performs all chemical process tests required to maintain chemical balance and material mixtures necessary for operation. Operate and control systems and adjust equipment including wash water and waste water solutions oils and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Understands and complies with position related safety SOPs and work instructions especially for LockoutTagout Waste Water Treatment Chemical Handling Machine Guarding Housekeeping SQF and Personal Protective Equipment.

Perform required chemical process tests to maintain prescribed chemical balance or material mixture necessary for operation of equipment.

Sample solutions at prescribed intervals to assure proper chemical balance and measures waste content.

Mix and maintain solutions in the operation for the process washer deionizers coolant systems water treatment and soluble oil filtration systems.

Responsible for handling mixing and storage of chemicals and compounds.

Prepare chemical wash solutions for the washer involving measuring chemicals in liquid or dry form mixing chemicals testing for chemical makeup and use of chemical handling and safety equipment.

Prepare batches of soluble oil mixture according to prescribed percentages.

Setup tend adjust and maintain washer and waste water equipment including changing filters and cleaning filter screens.

Install maintain repair and assist with overhaul pumps piping plumbing and support equipment.

Monitor and maintain and report the Hazardous Waste Program as required.

Unload and store barrel tote or bulk materials deliveries such as oil and chemicals.

Deliver materials to ready for use places.

Maintain inventory records of supplies used in process.

Examine test and measure product from assigned equipment for quality specifications using appropriate gauges and instruments and record date.

Perform Preventative Maintenance inspection of assigned equipment report findings and take appropriate action.

Write and perform maintenance work orders as required.

Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor quality material or supplies noted.

Operate equipment and assist production as directed.

Requirements:

Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment

Familiar with proper handling of chemicals and solvents

Mechanically inclided; familiar with hand tools

Minimum 5+ years previous mechanical/fast-paced manufacturing experience

High School diploma or GED equivalent required

Demonstrate mathematical and mechanical aptitude

Previous experience with PLC systems and basic electrical knowledge preferred

Able to stand for a long duration of time in excess of 8 hours a day

Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly

Able to climb stairs frequently

Able to lift up to 35 pounds; push/pull 800 lb. drums using hand truck

Exposure to heat cold vibrations odors/fumes and loud noise

Able to perform fine manipulations with hands

Willing and able to work overtime and night shifts
