GENERAL PURPOSE

Ensure empty cases are available to production departments to meet production schedules and provide assistance to shipping by moving trailers as requested and according to established Company policies and procedures.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and clean all equipment in the assigned area.
  • Slide case stacks from the truck using a milk hook or pallet jack as appropriate.
  • Ensure conveyor tracks are filled with empty cases to prevent production delays.
  • Confirm that the empty case area is full of cases at the end of the shift to help the next shift with a production run.
  • Correctly prioritize which truck to empty first based on input from supervisors, yard drivers, or others.
  • Continuously scan the area and straighten up to reduce trip and slip hazards.
  • Spot broken or otherwise unusable cases and remove them to the designated area.
  • Handle returned and truck inventory products as instructed.
  • Ensure trailers are unloaded and washed in a timely and efficient manner while keeping dock doors closed at all times when not in use.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with the required information.
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
  • Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Report any food safety and food quality-related issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues!
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred.
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during the course of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Able to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Able to write entries legibly for record-keeping.
  • Able to use company computer systems.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to follow directions.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
