Job Purpose:Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the incumbent is responsible for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for a 16-sport, NCAA Division 1 program.
Job Summary:- Coordinates and executes athletic training program for assigned sport(s), placing the safety of all student-athletes as the highest priority.
- Communicates with and informs the Head Athletic Trainer regarding any concerns associated with student-athlete welfare.
- Supports the athletic training needs of other sports/programs as necessary.
- Helps maintain inventory of all athletic training equipment.
NATA-BOC certification and eligibility for South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field and at least one year of athletic training experience, preferably at the college level. Work with soccer and lacrosse athletes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary:Demonstrated ability to analyze and treat athletic injuries. Ability to execute all required functions of a comprehensive athletic training program; accept and successfully complete assigned duties; follow all institutional, Big South and NCAA policies and bylaws; and communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes.
